Meetings are now indivdually announced at the OPPC Yahoo Site

Our communication person for the OPPC Yahoo Group is Sheryl Oder. Meetings are announced with reminders sent to anyone who signs up for that feature. To accesss the OPPC Yahoo group click on the Visit the OPPC Yahoo Group Site link on the left hand navigation bar.

Meetings unless otherwise specified are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the Month. Meetings begin at 7pm. Meetings are in the Veterans Room (2nd floor) of the Oak Park Public Library.

How the different OPPC sites work

The Oak Park Photography Club’s means of communication.

1.) The OPPC yahoo group, www.yahoo group OPPC photo club is a message board for members to share information pertaining to photography or club activities with each other. The OPPC yahoo group moderator is currently Jim Krysan. If you have any questions contact Jim at jkrysan@sbcglobal.net

2.) Flickr, www.Flickr oakparkphotoclub is a photo sharing site where you can submit photographs and also comment on other peoples photographs. An OPPC Flickr photogroup is already in existance, come join us, register, select your profile and privacy options, and submit some photos to share. 3.) This Newsletter, is designed to keep members abreast of upcoming shows, speakers, club basics and photo get-togethers. Submissions are accepted for publication on news, technique, and club information.

OPPC 2016 January Show

The next Oak Park Photo Club Exhibit will be in the main branch of the Oak Park Public Library - January 2016 in the 2nd floor gallery.

The standard frame will be used (frame equal to Nielson style 15 in matte black, 16x20 inch.). Use the following link for information on Club Standard Frame.

Prints are to be submitted at the last meeting in Dec. (Dec. 28, 2015).

The show will go up on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., until completed, for those who can help.

Viewing times will be, normal library hours, from Sunday, Jan. 3rd thru Saturday, Jan. 29, 2016 at 3 p.m..

The reception is Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Members are encouraged to bring an appetizer, finger-food or snack to share with guests (punch will be provided, along with napkins and cups)

The show will be dismantled on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2016 at 3 p.m. Please come by to pick up your prints at this time.

2016 OPPC Arms Narrow Gallery Show and Photographic Art Sale

A Photographic Arts exhibit and sale will be held, and simultaneously, there will be a reception for the opening of an extended print show:
Sunday, December 6, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm
in the Patio Room at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave.

Information on the extended print show:
This show will hang in the Narrow Gallery, adjacent to the Patio Room, until February 1, 2015.

Photographic Arts Exhibit and Sale:
Those club members planning to participate in the Photographic Arts exhibit and sale should bring their materials for tabletop display with them on December 6.  Items for display and sale are not restricted to prints but may include any type of photographic art.  Prints framed or unframed, matted or not should not exceed 12x16 in. for tabletop display.  Participants in this exhibit are requested to contribute an “item” for a raffle table for Arms residents.

Guest Speaker, Chicago Tribune Photgrapher Chuck Berman Monday Nov. 11

Chicago Tribune photographer Chuck Berman, will present his photographs and share information about his work encompassing several decades at the Chicago Tribune.  Club members are invited to submit one photograph for critique by Chuck Berman at the end of his presentation.

Arms Narrow Gallery Show and Photographic Arts Sale

Prints will be collected during November Club meetings (November 11 or November 25). If you cannot be at either meeting you must make other arrangements to deliver your print before the Show hanging date (Thursday, December, 5).

Guidelines for participation in the Arms Narrow Gallery Show and the Photographic Arts exhibit and sale:

a) Gallery Show: There is no theme for this show. Prints can be framed or mounted appropriately for hanging and should be no larger than 16x20 in. Prints for this show should be brought to the November club meetings (November 11 or November 25). All prints should be clearly labeled on the back with the photographer’s name, contact information, print title, and sale price.

b) Photographic Arts Exhibit and Sale: Those club members planning to participate in the Photographic Arts exhibit and sale should bring their materials for tabletop display with them on December 8. Items for display and sale are not restricted to prints but may include any type of photographic art. Prints framed or unframed, matted or not should not exceed 12x16 in. for tabletop display.

Member Henry Berry has Oak Park Library Exhibit opening in May

Henry’s photo exhibit ‘photographs by Henry Berry’ opens May 1st 2013 at the Main Branch of the Oak Park Library in the second floor gallery. The show runs through the month of May.

The opening reception, for the show, is from 2-4 pm on Saturday May 4th.

Member Exhibits Jan. - March 2013

Member Henry Berry has a photo show at the Oak Park Library - Maze Branch, 845 Gunderson, OP, IL. The Show runs March 2nd - March 30th. Opening Reception; Artist On the Spot Interview on Saturday, March 9th, 1-2pm.

Member Nancy Ortenberg’s show on the Blues "The Blues Highway: From Mississippi to Chicago". runs through the month of February at the Main Branch of the Oak Park Library - 2nd floor Art Gallery. Opening Reception Feb. 10 from 2-5 p.m.
