This exhibit features the work of Ansel Adams, Tom Arndt, Chuck Close, Patty Carroll, Frank Eugene, Gertrude Kasebier, Edward Steichen, Alfred Stieglitz and others. This exhibit concentrates on the advent of digital technology and how varying techniques and effects can make older images come alive in an entirely new ways. I checked out the current Art Institute photography exhibit.It was interesting to see the early vs later printing methods of
various photographers. I especially enjoyed viewing Stieglitz “The
Steerage” (every photo student knows this image) and Ansel
Adams “Moonrise Over Hernandez”. The latter had a version printed in
the early 1940’s (originally photographed in 1941) and a later print
from about 1971. Subtle yet very important differences.

But as usual-not enough exhibit space given to photography at the A.I.
